What AI collaboration tool can replace Notion and Slack?

Replacing both Notion and Slack takes an all-in-one collaboration tool where chat, documents, and tasks sit on the same data and the AI works on top of that data all the way through to execution. CALEUP is built toward that goal, and in Korea there are also all-in-one collaboration tools such as Flow, Dooray, Swit, and JANDI.

This guide covers why teams start looking at a switch, what a replacement has to cover, how Notion, Slack, and CALEUP compare from public sources, and the order to migrate in.

Why teams start looking for a replacement

Notion centers on documents and databases; Slack centers on messaging. When a team runs both, decisions stay in Slack conversations while the work is written up on Notion boards, so the context between deciding and doing breaks, and the same thing gets typed over and over. You also pay per user on each of the two tools separately.

What a replacement has to cover

RequirementWhy it mattersHow to check
Chat, documents, and tasks in one placeDecisions (the conversation) and the work (the tasks) have to sit on the same data for the context to holdWhether you can create a task straight from a chat message
Whether the AI carries through to executionAn AI that only summarizes does not remove the retypingWhether a plain-language request actually produces a task, an owner, and a due date

Notion, Slack, and CALEUP compared (from public sources)

From each company's official pricing page, checked 2026-09-21. Notion's displayed currency follows the visitor's region, and the figure here is what the page shows per member / month with the currency set to KRW - the page does not say whether that is the monthly-billing price or the monthly equivalent of annual billing. Slack stated a per-user monthly-billing price in US dollars on all three language editions, and US$8.75 is the standing price; a three-month 50% promotion was running when we checked. Prices change, so check the source again before quoting.

The order to migrate in

  • Channel structure first: redraw your Slack channels around teams and projects. Leave the ones nobody uses behind.
  • Run documents in parallel through the integration: keep referring to your existing docs through CALEUP's Notion integration, and create new ones in the Document Center from the start.
  • Move only the tasks in flight: leave finished boards where they are and bring over the projects still running.
  • Check in after two weeks: see whether decisions carry from the conversation into tasks, and whether the retyping has gone down.

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to drop Notion entirely?
No. CALEUP offers a Notion integration, so you can keep referring to your existing documents and run both side by side. You simply start creating new documents and tasks in CALEUP.
How is this different from Slack's AI?
Slack AI is a paid-plan feature centered on summarization and search (as listed on the official pricing page, checked 2026-09-21), while CALEUP's EVEN is an agentic AI that picks the decisions out of a conversation, turns them into tasks, and attaches an owner and a due date.
Can we try it for free?
CALEUP's Free plan provides the basic features, including chat, projects, and EVEN. See the pricing page for the limits and the paid plans.
